Found that, too. Surprisingly, why is it listed as freeware there?
Christ, but I hate EA. They're the Mr Burns of gaming.
i found it on softpedia. just search for sim city 2000 collection
I'd be curious to see these videos such as the "in-flight movie" and WillTV stuff that are on the CD. I've got this 8.7mb disk image called "Sim City 2000 Special Edition" which I'm guessing is the same thing as the download link on this page.
I have a copy of this. It includes "WillTV" and I may upload it to an external link sometime.
This one runs on Amiga ShapeShifter 3.11 too. And better than the native AGA version. 68040 CPU assumed.
I fully agree with you bertyboy. That's what I experience as well. With the exception of Star Trek: Elite Force (Ratio 3.17) I have almost never someone leeching. However, we should better discuss this in the forum, should we?
It gets worse, I've seen torrents for 83KB files. Torrents for 10MB and above I could understand, or even 2MB and above I could live with for a short while. But surely the traffic analysis will show that more bandwidth is consumed in one person downloading a 380MB file, even by bittorrent, than 50 people downlaoding an 8MB file.
How am I meant to seed an 83Kb file at at least 1:1 ? It may be months before someone else downloads it ... and then I'll still only have a 1:2 ratio. Another few months and I'd have a 5:6 ratio.
I've always throttled back my download speed to try help the server. And I've always seeded for about 7-10 days after downloading, but I hardly ever get someone leeching what I'm seeding. Maybe it's the big, recent games that consume the bandwidth, but I already own these and have no need to download and seed.
BitTorrent for a 8.7 MB file? You gotta be kidin' me!
Man, I don't know how many hours I've spent playing this one. Amazing game, very entertaining, even by today's standards. Still play it once in a while. Runs fine on my iMac G4, 800 Mhz with OS 9.2.2 by the way...
Running on an LC 575 and under Basilisk II, it unstuffs and runs fine. When the game first starts, it asks your name and company to register the game under. Used StuffIt 5. The Urban Renewal Kit crashes the emu under Basilisk for me though.
When ever I try to run the game it says that I didnt register the original copy then quits
In the description of the game it seems to indicate that I dont need a CD or an original copy of the game
