Nowadays the author calls this game Candy Crisis (a demo of which you can download), and it's somewhat better than this early version. But for a little time diversion, this is not too bad. It's like Tetris vs. the computer, but with cute little...well, 'skittles'. The only downside is that the speed ramps up too quickly after the fourth round.

I'm starting to hate my CC!
Oh. It was not 1992, it was 1993.

Yep, this one is a clone of Puyo Puyo, of which Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine was a licensed version. Also see "Qwirks" recently uploaded to this site."
What the hell? Just how many clones of DRMBM are there, anyway?! I know that DRMBM was the original game, because it was released in 1992, which predates this and both clones you mentioned.
Indeed, and I still remember when I played this first skittles like it was yesterday.
Man I wished I'd had the full version back then.

What about Skittles 2? by the way thanks!
The current version is Candy Crisis 1.2 which was formerly known as Skittles 2. Candy Crisis is available at candycrisis.sourceforge.net. It was released as shareware, but a free registration code is available at the site. It works on OS 9 and OS X.
Maybe this should be added as a new game? or this page updated?

It sounds like someone got a letter from one of Wrigley's lawyers.
