A particularly feisty game based on the Space Invaders format, and one of the first color games on the Macintosh. A Mac OS X port is now available from http://www.sticksoftware.com
Note that this is an older version of Solarian II which runs on older systems, but it isn't supported.
-----------
The file on the disk image above is 1.04. Added version 1.01, circa 1988.
Doesn't run very well in Classic mode.

If I download Solarian II under 10.6.8, I get an image file. Whether the image nor the Solarian II (classic-) file in it can be activated in Mac OS 9.0.4 (running via SheepShaver). Any help?
Oh man, that takes me back. It's the sound set.
had this on a Performa 5200, sure does take me back
The game plays wonderfully, excellent fun
This game was absolutely awesome. Excellently structured levels, consistently challenging enemies and great digitised sound effects ala Maelstrom. I need to get Basilisk in addition to vMac purely so I can play this game again. This game came bundled with our LC and throughout our time using that computer we always had time for this game. The whole family loved it. Ah, good times.
I can't get the archive to unstuff properly -- grabbed a screenshot from a copy of v1.04 I have here.
