I found a person's treasure trove. Among other things, ToddP mirrored "Surfers Serials 03.2000", which contains records of Spectre Supreme and Spectre VR.

I just downloaded the game and played it successfully on a Windows 7 machine. (Using Basilisk II, Quadra 650 ROM, System 7.5.3). Runs beautifully in 256 colors.
Thanks!!
I've updated the archive somewhat, and uploaded actual screenshots. Packaging pics are included in the archive.
UPDATE: added a second archive, of a special Macworld beta version and its related docs.
Yeah I think thats a great idea. Godda love original boxes and stuff. Im now charging up the batteries to the crappy family camera, since mum has nicked off overseas with my expensive one..
I have allot of boxes and CDs for original games, so i'll get those up when I can. Lots of Manuals as well, but im unsure how to make those. Ive heard there is some Adobe product you can get to put one together, but is there any simpler way? Or some open source application I can get my hands on?
Cheers.
I just wish I had more money to blow on this stuff. I've already blown what I made selling my Atari ST, though I haven't uploaded it all yet.
I would like to see uploaders make more of an effort to make images of floppies/CDs when they upload (if they're lucky enough to actually have them) so that we know we have pristine copies of the games. These Spectre games are a perfect example; as soon as you start one up from a hard drive, they alter themselves permanently, and it's hard for someone else to know if it's been modified or patched in any way. But too often that's what got uploaded originally.
Attila,
Many thanks for making the effort with the images of original media. All too often it seems that users just want to download and play, rather than preserve original Mac software.
I scored this package on eBay and scanned, imaged and uploaded the whole thing. Nothing's been lost from the previous archive.
BTW: The package mentions a CD-ROM version of this game with QuickTime movies, but I'm guessing those were included in the release of Spectre VR one year later.
Very fascinating screenshots, slomacuser.
Would you please scan the manual and add it to this site?
