Missing a file which is still listed as Megaupload...
You can sort-of play it on a Power Mac 6500 (final generation 603e), but you'll need a proper 3D accelerator card and lots of RAM. Don't forget to set for thousands of colors with a Voodoo2.
You really want a G3, though.
hi there,
Is there a way to change the resolution or play it in a window? I guess it´s 800x600 or something like this - but on my 12" iBook 1024x768 it look a bit crappy and my eyes getting heavy, after playing a few minutes.
Best regards,
Elo
Network play does not work in classic.
i love this game from way back. 10.4.11 it runs ok, the cd patch does not download off of megaupload correctly or something, just toast an img or make hard copy cd
Forget the NoCD patch, lock and mount the disc image in Toast.
I can't mount the SMI that contains the No CD patch. Stuffit returns a ShrinkWrap error
darn. It's a great game.
Which PowerMac G4 do you have ? and which video card ? what about RAM allocated to it in OS9 ?
I can only think to suggest grabbing the OS9.2.2 for MDD (use search at top). It's a big download but it should work. Is there any reason why you still use OS9.2.1 ? Not that it would make any difference, as said I had this running on a rev.A iMac with OS8.6
Says, application unexpectedly quit because a type 3 error occured.
Yes, i'm booted into 9.2.1. I wouldn't try to play a game in classic. I have a dual boot with Tiger. I'll try reducing my colors... but there are no other options in the monitors panel as far as resolutions go... weird. maybe i should get an ATI card? Apple seemed to always favor ATI. I installed the OpenGL pluggin and put the extensions that it directed me to put in my extensions folder.
ia your resolution too high ? or too many colours ? and are you actually booted into OS9 ? I've played this on everything from a first gen iMac G3 (Bondi Blue) with a 2MB video card, to a dual PMG5 with a 512MB video card, from OS8.6 to OS9.2.2 and up to OSX 10.4 in Classic. Plays perfectly.
Make sure you have OpenGL (whatever version it says that it requires). Try reducing colours to 256 or thousands before starting. Others have had a similar issue uncer Classic but it was resolved by using a bootable OS9 system folder as the classic folder.
Um, why do you want to use a noCD patch? If you can just play with the disc loaded/image mounted then I'd recommend that either way.
I'm confused, I downloaded the game, burned it to a CD, installed just fine on my PowerMac G4 with Mac OS 9...
patched the game, when i went to launch it, screen goes black as if the game is going to launch then crashes to the desktop. I downloaded the No CD crack, but I don't know where to put it. Does it not like my video card or something? I have a GeForce4MX. Think it has 64MB VRAM. I was excited when i saw this game will run on a classic mac, I used to play it on my PII Dell back in the day...
Patch added.
This is a cool game, it is ten years old, and they don't sell it!
Ouch, do they still sell it ?
Demo still available from LucasArts:

Thank you Carl, the alternative download works fine. Burned it onto a disc, runs great on "my old warhorse", an iBook G3, 366 Mhz, 576 MB RAM and OS 9.2.2. Great!
Downloaded successful, but when I try to burn it onto a disc I get an error saying that his is an unknown disk-image and that the disc-format could not be found. Anyone else has this problem?
