This is version 1.54, an update of the earlier version, but published instead by Alliance Interactive. It supports both monochrome and color Macs.
"Sub Battle Simulator is set in World War 2, with the player on the American or German side. Six different submarines are simulated in a total of 60 missions. You will have to navigate, using five different levels of mapping, and plan attacks based on weather and surroundings, paying close attention to the radar. Watch out for torpedoes and Sonars.
This was the first submarine simulation to include aircraft as opponents. You can choose to remain on the surface and defend yourself with your guns, or dive and hope to avoid the bomb and/or strafing that'll surely follow." --MobyGames.com
CompatibilityWill crash if opened in more than 256 colors. Package claims Mac OS 7 required but seems to work at least partially in System 6.
Comments
Thanks, that's much better than before.
I've changed the title and description slightly to make more sense in the wake of what I've found out about the earlier versions of this game.
True, this one runs also in Mini vMac (b/w).
Added a screenshot. Works fine on a 68030 with SSW 7.1
Edit: Changed 'xxx 7' to 'SSW 7' - IIGS User
