(NOT WORKING; NEEDS HACKING)
"Your grandfather has invented a device which makes real everything he can see in his dream. All the strange places and creatures he can dream about really exist in an alternate reality. One of those creatures, named Franklin Snarl, traveled through the device to our reality and kidnapped Gramps, teleporting him into the crazy world of Tonetown. He hopes that Gramps will always remain asleep, which assures Snarl's own existence!
Now it's up to you, the hero of the game to travel to the alternate dimension of Tonetown and to rescue your grandfather. You interact with the environment by either typing in commands, or choosing one of the action icons available as interface. The game, therefore, combines text-based interaction with the more modern "point and click" approach." --MobyGames.com

I finally acquired my own copy of Tass Times in Tonetown on eBay earlier this year, too. I tried to run it on my 4-megabyte Mac Plus, but it it spits out the disk with this modal prompt: "Please place your original disk in your drive and reboot the system." The disk must be damaged somewhere, triggering the copy protection scheme. So infuriating. Were either of you (tjlazer, MCP) able to get your disk of the game to successfully run on original hardware?
Finally! I just got a copy of it on eBay! It was listed with no mention of what platform it was for, so I emailed the seller and he said Macintosh. Got it for $10! Wish I could copy it! Tried to copy the file "ad" from the cracked Mindshadow archive, but it hangs on the title screen!
The seller didn't list it as being for Macintosh! I just had a general saved search for "Tass Times in Tonetown" and squinted at the blurry photo and realized it was for Macintosh.
I found the auction you won. It flew under my radar because my saved searches on eBay were too specific.
Found it on eBay, still in the shrinkwrap. Thankfully its documents are the same as other versions, so I didn't have to scan much. Hopefully something can be done with it...
Yes! Another tremendous find by MCP! Where did this turn up? Now only one more Interplay adventure needs to be found: Borrowed Time!
When I located Interplay's Mindshadow last year, I struggled to create a working disk image; all my imaging tools hanged on an invisible file named eSRN. In the end, I copied each file (except eSRN) individually over to a blank MFS disk image. Daxeria applied a famous hack (change 2F10 4217 205F 4E90 to 203C 99C4 5501 4E71 with Fedit) and defeated the copy protection, making the game playable. This hack works on many games, but apparently not Tass Times; I looked for this hexadecimal string on your disk image but could not find it. We're going to need a ninja like yoyomac to crack this nut.
