"The original commercially-licensed version of Alexey Pajitnov's classic Tetris puzzle game. Geometric shapes fall from the top of a playfield to rest on the bottom; fit the pieces together, and the line they form disappears. If the pieces don't form lines and eventually stack up to the top of the playfield, the game is over. Difficulty increases by dropping the pieces faster and faster over time.
Tetris is a verifiable classic game, translated to well over 200 electronic and computer platforms. It takes 2 minutes to learn, but a lifetime to master." --Mobygames.com

Haven't had any luck with sound, in Basilisk II, so non-PPC (7.6.1 I think). Unfortuantely, the Tetris Gold download isn't available either, due to the bandwidth-issues thing. =/
Regarding the sound issue-- I don't have time to sort through these Tetris versions again, but from what I recall, there were patches made available by Spectrum Holobyte for most or all of the games that eventually wound up on the Tetris Gold CD:
http://macintoshgarden.org/games/tetris-gold
On that CD, a couple of the games had already been patched, and for the upload to this site I included the patches for the remaining games on that disc that had not already been patched. So anyone wanting to upload a patched Tetris should first try the different versions on the site and see if it hasn't already been taken care of.
I hope that helps!
I've found a way to solve sound issues and i've patched the game. It works both with Sheepshaver (Os 9) and with Basilisk II (Os 7.5.3). How can i upload the patched version?
The link to the second archive I uploaded ages ago doesn't work. Is there any way to fix that, Balrog? I'd like to remove that mirror link; I only provided it as a temporary solution until the upload became available.
I left the first archive untouched; it appears to be the same as the version of Tetris from the Tetris Gold CD. My own archive of that Tetris Gold version is available from the Old Mac Archive. The second archive is of a floppy version and related files found elsewhere on the web.
Doesn't seem to work with SheepShaver. Can anyone confirm?
