This game works with: SheepShaver, Basilisk II,

Torin is a young boy who lives in a little country house with his parents and with his dog-like friend Boogle. One day he returns home, only to find out his parents were imprisoned in a magical spell. He must now travel to distant lands to free his parents from the curse, and to discover the truth about his own origin.

The game is a humorous adventure with cartoon-style graphics, mostly aimed at younger players. Torin interacts with characters and objects in a point-and-click fashion, and can also use Boogle's special ability: to change shapes and to turn itself into useful objects. (MobyGames)

i loved playin this game on my pc about 10 years ago or somethin. so much imagination and well drawn graphics considerin the time it was released. although, i WANTED the explorability available in other games and interaction via the keyboard or a joystick rather than the mouse. it just doesnt "feel" the same the mouse way. if torin's passage had a map like grand theft auto that could be walked around in (or drove around in with whatever imaginative vehicle the game could've offered) with the cool phenocryst thing that transports you to different levels that would be freakin AWESOME!!! the last part of this game i hated (the tenebrous "level") because there was even less explorin possible. i love the boogle guy but his shape shiftin powers didnt really do a lot most of the time. like, you use a "power" once and its disabled for the rest of the game. i wanted to be able to beat up harmless characters (monsters or whatever in games are extremely hard to fight off sometimes) and wreck buildings and climb trees and all sorts of great stuff but it wasnt made possible to do. that was really gay. somebody should take the good elements of torin (boogle's shapes, the inventory items) and make a new game where you can jump, climb, run, attack other characters, give insults to make peds mad, drive around in a car or a boat or a plane(or a flyin carpet!), use magic spells, plus be able to talk with people like in the real game only when you get tired of somebody you can tell them to shut up and/or hit them with your hands, feet or objects. that wouldve made the game a lot more fun to play. i hated when i didnt have any real control over what torin could do or where he could go. that made me want to whoop al lowes ass. nobody wants a game where cutscenes control everything that happens like some kinda animated story book. at least i dont anyway. the intro was great but not constantly over the course of the game. the only type of story book style that would be good as game would be the "choose your own adventure" one because you can control what happens in the game's environment. i want to be able to do all the things i can't do in real life like blow up stuff, steal stuff from shops, go underground and up in the air, use martial arts, have powers like wizards and superheroes, undress female strangers so i can bang them, take over the world, go to space and conquer other worlds, and maybe more. you know, excellent features. all in a game that wont crash or hang my computer. is it really that difficult developer people?!

(the error I get is that it is "not supported on this system"). Any advice?

Wait, I'm assuming you try to run this game on an Intel-based Macintosh?
Simply you can't.
Please install one of the mentioned emulators, a matching Macintosh System Software within the emulator,
look for a matching ROM file by using Google.

Last step is to add this .cdr image to the emulators drives list before booting up the emulator.
So the .cdr file will be mounted inside the emulator as an usual CD-ROM and you can just install like on a real 68k
or PowerPC based Macintosh.

The .CDR is not supposed to be opened, instead you have to burn it onto a CD
as a "Disk IMAGE" (Don't just copy the file, this "Disk Images" are handled different)
usually NERO and Alcohol 120% have that Special option to handle Disk Images
such as .ISO, NRG, CDR, etc.

once you burn it onto a CD, then You can install it as though it was the Original CD Game.

If you are using a real Macintosh, you can burn it with TOAST.

Hi I downloaded this file using Bittorrent, and was hoping for instructions of how to install the game--I can unzip the file into a .cdr. When I try to open the .cdr, I get the message "The disk image you are opening may be damaged and could damage your system". If I open it anyways, the "disk" that shows up on my desktop has all the files I'd expect--install, etc. However, I cannot open the "install" icon (the error I get is that it is "not supported on this system"). Any advice?
