Victoria: An Empire Under the Sun takes players to the Victorian era (1835 to 1920), in which time they can direct their nation in the fields of diplomacy, warfare, economy, industrialization, colonization, technological research and politics. There is somewhat more micro-management in this game, compared to Europa Universalis releases. The economy model in the game is rather complex and often takes precedence over military strategy. The game is all about re-creating world history according to the players' wishes, with a healthy set of events to either support or go against them. (MobyGames)

now you can play D
we make it work. let me get home and i up the version that goes with the nocd image. but you probably can't update the game ever. thats all i have for the game. btw give that nocd a try without the patcher because that patch is to make the game run without the nocd. a patched app won't update.
I think that's OK. I had a similar case some years ago, asked the one who gave it away, and he replies "That's OK. There is something stored on the Seems-to-be-empty-CD-Image."
Thanks for trying, but 1) The NoCD/NoDVD image seems to be empty, and 2) The Patcher requires version 1.3c, and the version of the patch here the requires the boxed version, so it doesn't work on the full copy that we have here.
try the nocd/nodvd
Man, I was excited to see this here! Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a document or anything with the product key. Is it possible someone could upload that, or point me in the right direction?
---> Is this upload the boxed version?<----
I don't know, Bolkonskij. Bertyboy could tell us as he sent me the CD image last year.
You're absolutely right about being much less a military simulation rather than a history / economic simulation. All those warlords hoping for an enhanced Risk gameplay will be deeply disappointed (though wars can and will happen). It's much less about military conquest than Europa Universalis is. Coming from EU, I was disappointed at first. But once I understood the joy of building your economy / culture I spent days and days with Victoria. There's also a add-on called "Revolutions" that adds depth to the gameplay.
Victoria walks the line between frustrating and very rewarding gameplay - as most Paradox games. Again, you can play as every nation, do whatever you'd like (as long as you can come up with the necessary funds / resources)
Not a game for Facebook gamers, but strategy-lovers and those looking for depth in a game.
EDIT: Added two gameplay shots and the German manual.
@mrdav Is this upload the boxed version? I've added the update to 1.3 (fixed a memory leak) but it's boxed version only.
