The once mighty army of Azeroth lay among the blackened charred remains of Stormwind Keep. Those that escaped fled across the great sea, bringing tales of the suffering they had faced at the hands of the Orcish Hordes. Eager to engage in battle once again, the Orcs constructed ships of war to bear them across the great sea. The Orcish warriors yearned for the sounds of battle to fill the air and looked to the far horizon for new blood to spill. Using the weapons forged by their new allies, the humans made haste to prepare for the onslaught. While cannons were being loaded, others armed themselves with Elven steel and nail. Now united in arms with new allies against the common foe, mankind stands at the shores of destiny and awaits the coming of the Tides of Darkness.
Combining the best aspects of many strategy favorites - Dune II, Populous and SimCity - Warcraft II manages to create a truly unique experience that considerably improves upon its predecessor. A plethora of options and features have been added to the real-time war game engine of the original, making every aspect of the game, from combat to resource management, much more enthralling. Flying vessels and seafaring crafts have been added, improving upon the landlocked combat of Warcraft. There are new technologies to research, new structures to build, and new races to align with. Resource management has been expanded, and now includes oil, in addition to gold and lumber, as a necessary ingredient for successful construction and destruction.
Important: The (above) game's already patched. If installed to a hard drive, it doesn't need the CD mounted to run. When starting a new game, the game will complain about not finding the CD. Press OK and you'll be able to play. The patched version doesn't include movies, and they're not on the CD neither. This version can't host net games.
Below is a bin-cue image compressed with OS X zip. Burn with Toast (for example) to make a hybrid Mac/PC CD that includes the audio tracks.
The second download at the top-right is an updater.

No Luck assembling files... Stuck at decompressing:
MacUnRAR fails to open the separate "part" rar files. Stuffit 8 doesn't work properly on 10.2.(latest). Tiger destroys the OS 9 files and makes them useless. All operating systems are fresh installs with no tweaks. Dead end. Can you please just make a .toast file from the CD and compress it to .sit? That would make thing THIS much easier.
Ok I've got 21 downloads of the WC2 cd kit, but no comments other than klasmak's issue... it would be nice to know if it's working for others, or even a thank you. So Klasmak I don't know what to tell you other than it worked just fine for me following the instructions and playing on a Performa 575 33mhz running OS 8.1, 2X cd drive. For me this is the quintessential 68k game, I used to play with friends over a homemade serial -> telephone cable home network, it was truly awesome.
I tried to assemble the full CD with the CDkit according to instructions given, but with no success. There seems to be missing resource forks of data folder including game installer. Any tips?

In appreciation to this community, which I've just discovered, I will post a little kit of sorts to burn an original cd copy. I'll encode the 'audio cd' portion of the disc into mp3, or perhaps aac, to make the upload and download a bit easier. Also included will be the movie and music databases which were removed in the cracked version that is available here at the moment. You will need toast or equivalent to burn the data portion as a single session, then to burn the audio portion as a DAO to finish it off. Will upload asap.
BTW This game runs perfectly on my good ol' Performa 575 @ 33mhz, OS 8.1
please do upload a cd version
i have performa 6115cd and i like this game
can someone upload wracraft 2 .toast?
Can you rip the original CD copy please?
I have original copy of this. I can rip it with Disk Utility (or something else?) and upload, if anyone would like. I will do so if someone requests as such.
This has come up for sale on eBay UK, shipped worldwide. This would be a chance to own the full CD, rather than the stripped down verson (no music) that I loaded here.
If there are no bids I'll buy it at the last minute and rip the music (and add a MU link here).
Nice!!! Definitely one of a best mid-90s Mac RTS games. Right up there with Command & Conquer.
