According to Wikipedia, Apple released Mac OS version 8.1 on January 19, 1998.
Windows 8.1 has been released yet (at this posting time stamp) . Wink

There is also an application called Windows 2.1 at this site,
which brings a Window menu item to Mac OS 6 applications.
