This is the AppleCare Protection Plan Diagnostics CD-ROM. This CD contains the bootable Mac OS 9.0 for recovery purposes plus Micromat's TechTool Deluxe which is a program that can help you locate and isolate problems on your Macintosh as well as repair many of the problems it encounters.

The first download above is a .toast image containing the US Mac OS 9.0 boot volume with TechTool Deluxe 2.5.2 and compressed with zip.

The CD-ROM contains the bootable volumes (7.5.5, 7.6.1, 8.1, 9.1, 9.2.2), installer, manual, disk images and the software itself.

Compatibility:

* Color-capable Macintosh computer with minimum 640x480 display.
* System software version 7.5.5 or later.
* Drive capable of reading CD-ROMs.
* Minimum 5 megabytes of RAM above that required by the OS.
* Hard disk drive.

Version 3.0.6 is the last supported version that will work on 68k machines.

Requires system 7.0-8.5, 5mb ram, 68020 or higher. Says can run on mac plus but heard it can't, not enough ram. If someone has a mac portable or powerbook 100 with 5mb+ of ram; might work. Rip of cd not full copy, includes disk images for floppy recovery though.

The second download link is the CD-ROM version of TechTool Pro v2.5.1. It includes the bootable volumes, installer, documentation and more.

Not tested under emulation.
