The SoundVQ Encoder using TwinVQ Technology, produces very high quality compressed audio files (.VQF) which are smaller in file size if compared to a same audio file encoded as .MP3 - and because of this high quality compression, encoding takes a fairly long time. The results are worth it tho' IMO. Also: Modern media players such as VLC can play SoundVQ's .VQF audio files.

For PPC Macintosh only, including Mac Clones & SheepShaver.

Note: The SoundVQ Encoder is time-bombed to expire at 90 days.

A Workaround for the 90 day Encoder time limit:
(Step 1). Using the Unhide Tools "Change File Visibility" feature; Drag the "Preferences" folder inside your Mac's System Folder onto the "Change File Visibility" icon to show a window containing the Preferences folder's contents. Inside of this window, scroll down and locate the hidden file named "svqdat011". Place a check into the empty box to the immediate left of the "svqdat011" file-name. Quit the Unhide Tools and open the actual "Preferences" folder. The file named "svqdat011" will now be visible. Locate and send it to the Trash.

(Step 2). Using ResEdit's Open File dialog, locate & open the Application "SoundVQ Encoder 2.52eb7" (or simply drag the SoundVQ Encoder's icon onto ResEdit's application icon to launch & open its resources for editing) and delete the resource labeled "DaTe". Save changes & Quit ResEdit then run SoundVQ Encoder. A fresh date-stamp & "DaTe" resource gets created.

This will give you another 90 days usage. Repeat the above two steps as required.
