Falling somewhere between a gentler, funnier Shadowgate and an Enchanted Scepters with more vivid writing and graphics, this is one of the forgotten gems of the early Mac scene. Especially notable is how it resolves the gap between the player's commands and the computer's limited ability to respond: you play the advisor to a dim-witted brute of a hero, so all error messages come in the form of his incomprehension or obstinacy.

The Vampyr has in his possession The Crimson Crown, which he stole from His Majesty, King John the Good. The crown possesses great magical powers, as yet unknown to the Vampyr. Should he learn them and the means to employ them, the kingdom is most certainly doomed.

Should you travel to the dark forests of Transylvania, be mindful of all that occurs, for you may encounter the Evil that holds Sabrina captive. Return the Princess, and the King, Himself, will honor you as his hero.

Xyphus is the first role playing game ever published for the Mac (it even runs on a 128). In the lost continent of Arroya evil creatures have taken the power and you must lead a group of four adventurers to sweep out all these monsters but, what's more important, to get rid of their demon lord, Xyphus. In order to face him, you must retrieve his heart first.. Your band will have different characteristics according to the races you've chosen (human, dwarf or elf) and develop different abilities as they gain experience.
