Space Tripper is a frantic side-scrolling 3D shoot-em-up. You have to battle through 14 levels divided over 4 thematic worlds, each with a different style and enemies. Each world ends with a huge boss battle. Carefully balance upgrading your two weapons, or at the end you'll be hard pressed to win (hint: focus on the blue one).

Following this tradition, Project Magellan features fast, furious, "shoot-em-up" action with a myriad of killer enemies on the screen. In addition to armed drones that shadow the players' movements, power up weaponry includes nine levels of tracking missiles, spread shots, star bursts, energy torpedoes, and particle lasers.

The moon's defense system has been sabotaged, causing it to fire on all ships trying to cross the supply lines between cities. Your job is to trade goods (at a profit), battle the automated weapon platforms, and scour the lunar canyons for the stolen defense system components that will restore order.

The game starts with Putt-Putt (the purple car) and Pep (his brown puppy) driving on to the screen with a bunch of balloons in Pep's mouth. Putt-putt tells his companion to hold on to the balloons tightly, which Pep immediately lets go of by barking. In the rest of the game, the player progresses through different levels popping the balloons which seem to have multiplied hundreds of times. (MobyGames)
