Lost Souls is a new take on the game of chess. Instead of being set on a checkered board, the game is played on a series of floating islands. Each side start on its own island, which may have one or more guard towers. Movement is still turn-based but unlike chess, each side can move all its pieces in a single turn. In addition to that each side can produce new units or built bridges at the expense of mana points. Bridges are used to reach other islands where there can be additional towers.

Ocean Bound is a survival game where you and the crew of your ship are stranded on an unknown island. The main goal is to build a ship to escape back to civilization, but before you can do that you must establish a colony, collect resources and try to stay alive. But once you manage to escape, the next level simply strands you in another island. There are sixty levels in total, featuring all sorts of islands, some as big as continents, and each one requires a different strategy to stay alive.

Rock Solid

This game has the player engineering a conveyor system to haul mined diamonds in caves to a central base using horizontal and vertical conveyors. Equipment is installed one square at a time, with specific costs for each piece. Since digging costs almost as much as a conveyor, each situation demands a careful analysis to determine whether to go through or around a particular obstacle. From the moment I grasped the basic setup, I knew I would enjoy this game. It tapped into my love of engineering and optimizing solutions within tight constraints.
