Version 1.6 of DiscPassage is compatible to Macintosh SE/30 respective Mac II (and newer) models, while
version 1.4.5, which is also included in this download, runs on older hardware like Macintosh Plus or its emulator counterpart.
About DiscPassage:
DiscPassage is a program which provides a menu-driven user interface for accessing the information on your CD-ROM.
DiscPassage provides various means of accessing CD-ROM data, including a hierarchical "Contents" menu and "Search" and "Browse" facilities. In addition, DiscPassage offers facilities for displaying graphic images, printing text and images, playing sounds (if the CD-ROM has audio content) and copying text to user-named files.
DiscPassage will run properly only if there is a DiscPassage CD-ROM in the CD drive. DiscPassage CD-ROMs have the word "DiscPassage" or the word "CMC" printed on the CD-ROM or the CD-ROM jewel box.
Once DiscPassage has been installed on your hard drive, use the same installation to access all your DiscPassage CD-ROMs.
You may mount multiple number of DiscPassage CD-ROMs at once and browse to the desired CD-ROM from within DiscPassage's 'File' menu using its 'Discs' menu item.
If you pop in a DiscPassage CD-ROM that includes an Audio CD partition, DiscPassage may try to handle the Audio CD partition first, which will fail. In this case, just use the 'Disc' menu item in the File menu to select the data partition of that CD-ROM.

Basilisk likes to crash when you quit DiscPassage 1.4.5 application, but works fine otherwise.
To get the CD-ROM recognized by DiscPassage, you may need to write-protect it, either in your host operating system or within the emulated Mac OS system.

Updated Download, Mirror and Readme to version 1.6
Version 1.4.5 is still included, for Mac Plus compatibility.
Added the manual, which is a summary of PC and Mac related Readme files found on DiscPassage CD-ROMs.
As for "Multimedia Audubon's Mammals CD-ROM" and "Multimedia Birds of America", I own these, too, but before uploading, I've to study the Guides to create Audio CD images.
