This is an Apple Internal release of DiskCopy, v6.4, for OS9.
This version is able to mount and edit (unencrypted) OSX disk images, .dmg, in OS9.
Not sure how useful it's going to be on this site, but it allows possibilities.
[Wiki]
Although the last official public release of Disk Copy for Mac OS 9 was version 6.3.3, there was to be a version 6.5 that supported the newer DMG image format introduced with Mac OS X. But because Apple had stopped support for OS 9 already, support for the old OS was eventually removed in favor of OS X. As such the OS 9 version of 6.5 only ever made it to beta 13 before development on it stopped. There was also a developer version 6.4 that 6.5 was based on and had most of the same functionality, but as a developer version it was never released. Although version 6.4 and 6.5 will read DMG images when the system is booted into OS 9, they can only do so if the image is not compressed.
Also included in the download links above is version 6.0

Comments
Indeed, I've just gone to DiskCopy 6.3.3 download page and it says that 6.5b13 is included in the package... So I will not upload my own copy
It's quite frequent on the site that programs have several pages for different versions, some of those pages containing several versions aswell
.
When the title of the page is, like here, 'Program_name vW.X & vY.Z' I think it's not a problem, but when it says 'Program_name vX.Y' then its quite annoying. Can't something be done to avoid this situation ?
I don't know if it is of any interest, by I have a copy of the 6.5b13 version. I could upload it if you want...
@Vitoarc:
Have had a little peek at it. This Disk Copy should be classed as a "Disk Copy 4.x family" variant only. That is, it is a pure 68k app. Contains no PPC code. It cannot open or mount Disk Copy 6.1.x NDIF (New Disk Image Format) files, nor create/mount files from any source, such as folders or any file other than a floppy disk (it cannot mount these either).
It bears no resemblance to Disk Copy 6.1 or newer other than the version number contains a "6". It is basically the same as Disk Copy 4.2 in operation. Whether it does a better job than Disk Copy 4.2 or has any advantage over it, this would be hard to say at 1st glance.
Perhaps of interest was this directive from the Disk Copy 6.1.2 manual (the PDF I'll be putting in with the Disk Copy 6.3.3 Mac Garden Entry) This quote refers to a Disk Copy 6.0.1 which perhaps is a "0.1" version later than the Disk Copy you've just put up:
DC 6.0 will be interesting for us to study, at least
Mike Garden, the funny thing is, is that I almost didn't upload this because I just didn't know a good spot to put it. Then I figured that 6.4 was the odd app out, and this is an odd version, so I decided why not. Plus I know that anything and everything Apple is welcome on this site... but how much use DC 6.0 will be to anyone remains to be seen.
Oh and thanks for your new RISK upload.
@Vitoarc:
Damn, something else you've uploaded that looks interesting
I've never seen version 6.x look so much like a vers. 4.x before.
@Vitoarc:
There's some info at http://db.tidbits.com/static/html/TidBITS-339.html . Basically it supports a compressed format and a self-contained format. I wonder if this compressed format is similar to DART ... probably not, though. Unlike Disk Copy 6.1, it does not use the resource fork for compression data.
I acquired DiskCopy 6.0 from a 1995 University CD. Appearance wise, it looks just like DC 4.2 It will be interesting to note the difference between the two versions.
