"FilmMaker is the ultimate animation program. Position, path, rotation, scale, color, and transparency are all animatable in an environment that provides real-time control and creative flexibility. FilmMaker does the kind of work that until now meant hours of tedious labor." --publisher's description
Manual (over 200 pages; not scanned) states this is version 2.1, but version info on the disks states 2.0.3. And nowhere in any of the documentation is there a year provided! Only on the disks themselves.
Developer apparently was based in Paris, France.
CompatibilityMinimum requirements: System 6.0.5 or later, 5MB RAM, 32-bit QuickDraw, math coprocessor, any Macintosh II family computer with a hard disk.
Crashed OS 9.2.2; not recommended for PPC's or anything later than Mac OS 7.
Comments
FilmMaker will also run on Mini vMac II (Mac OS 7.1 and 7.5.5).
Edit: Changed 'xxx 7' to 'Mac OS 7' - IIGS User
Film Maker runs with Mac OS 7.1, 256 colours in FusionPC set to MacII emulation.
FusionPC is available for free from http://emulators.com/download.htm ,it needs a WIN98 or lower host or DOSBox to be executed.
From a first glance, FM looks very interesting, especially considering its age.

Anyone with a system or emulator capable of running this, please provide a screenshot or two.
This software came in a big yellow tin that looks like a film can, and has a pricetag of $599.99 from an Egghead store! The manual is large and is mostly just a list of the software's menu options, so I haven't bothered trying to scan it. There is a Quick Start guide that is shorter and seems more useful, and so is included.
