When I install apps onto my powerbook quite often the icons aren't there (with the exception of Adobe apps) is there a way to get the icons back or to be there again?

A destop rebuild usually cures that symptom. Else a run with NDD, Norton Disk Doctor/Norton Utilities often takes care of the more stubborn cases. HTH!

DiskWarrior and TechTool Pro also repair icons.
