Could somone please upload the full version of BBEdit 6? I've had an .smi-image of 6.5, but since it got corrupted somhow, I can't use it anymore.
It is the only version that runs under OS9 and supports advanced syntax-highlighting. I've already searched the whole internet and everything, that google could provide - without luck.
How about v7.1.4? It was posted here on the Garden just this week.

But since I'm using OS 9 on Sheepshaver, it won't be possible for me to run this one, as it requires OS 9.1 and I am only able to run 9.0.4.
So the latest version I'd be able to run would be 6.5.
Sometimes Developers give OS minimums that are higher than the "actual" ones - usually because they didn't have a lower version available for testing.
Since the newer version is here at no charge, you could give it a try with little risk to see if the minimum was real or artificial.
Just a thought.

And sometimes they do give well tested and accurate OS minimums.
I just tested this on SheepShaver, Mac OS 9.0.4 (+ CarbonLib 1.6) - BBEdit 7.1 informed me that I needed a newer OS (before it exited). - Actually, it informed me that I required a "Mac OS 2314.1 or later" to be precise, but I "got the drift".
On SheepShaver, use BBEdit version 6.5 or earlier.
I thought the same way, and the same message as for MikeTomTom popped up for me.
BBEdit 6.5 is now available.
