Can't get Puppy Love to work on Mini vMac

Hi everyone!

I'm new here so I appologise if the answer to my question is obvious.

I've gotten other games to work on Mini vMac, but I cannot get Puppy Love to work. I open the game as an iso after extracting the download. I can get the Puppy Love disc to show up on the desktop, but if I double click on "Finder" it looks like it has opened up, but instead of the game showing up on screen, the desktop just refreshes. I have also tried to rename Finder icon as "Puppy Love", as was recommended on the download page in Macintosh Garden, but that only caused an error (with the infamous bomb). Any other ideas as to what I could try?

Thanks in advance for your help!
Colin

I haven't tried this game myself. Have you followed the comments on the game's page. It seems like best results are had if you have have a System File of between version 2 - 4

hmmm... that could be the problem... I have system 6.0.8. Where would I get one of the earlier systems to put on mini vmac?

nevermind... found system 4... I'll get back to you on whether it works or not. Thanks for the tip!

Hmmm... So I found system 4 and 2 and tried adding each of the system files to the iso and I still get errors. As far as I know, that's what I'm supposed to do. Any other ideas? Maybe I'm not doing it right?

No, you are doing right, I think. No go with 2 for me either.

Okay, at least I'm not the only one. Anyone else have an idea? I'm dying to get this game working.

I know my cousin got this working on mini vMac, as it was one of the games he had growing up. Unfortunately, he couldn't figure out the bizarre syntax used in the game (for tricks), as it's in the manual (long lost), so he couldn't go very far. He might have a Mac Garden username. I'll ask him.
