Looking for CD/DVD SpeedTools 6.0. Can't seem to find it anywhere. Their demo is broken, and there is no way I am shelling out $50 when I don't even know if it works for my setup.

when I don't even know if it works for my setup.
Do you want to run this on
You're right, the only I can find is this one:
https://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/3268/cd/dvd-speedtools
(Demo version, requires PPC, Mac OS 7.0 - 9.2.2)
and
Google Groups.com/Intech CD/DVD SpeedTools for OS 9
http://www.intechusa.com/CDInfo.html from the link above.
There are other drivers available for unsupported devices. I had good success with this one but it's all down to what drive you have and your system. CDROM Toolkit is another but that one didn't work so well with my setup.
68k (PB 540c), SSW 7.1.2 (Finder 7.1.4) is what I want to run it on.
Any other suggestions besides FWB & TuneUp? I'm open to as many decent possibilities as I can get my hands on.
Edit: Replaced 'xxx 7' by 'SSW 7', see Muso TNT Limited for details - IIGS User
Sorry, the app in the title doesn't run on your Macintosh.
Actually, it does. The MacUpdates link is wrong. This is the software as listed on the site for the people who actually make the software:
http://www.speedtools2.com/CDInfo.html
System Requirements:
SSW 7.0 through MacOS 9.2.2
2.5 MB of available RAM (4 MB recommended)
SCSI or ATAPI CD, CD-R, CD-RW or DVD Drive
Macintosh Plus or later model
I laugh at getting it to run on a Plus, but it's apparently technically possible.
But nice to read it supports classic Macs as well.
Does it have to be 6.0? Looking in my archives the higher version i got is 5.6 and the lower 3.9.8
I found version 6.0 and Hard Disk SpeedTools 3.6. I'm going to upload them to the garden so everyone can give them a shot.
Nice one Paralel!
Ok, they're up. Enjoy.
