Emulation Combinations that work

Can someone assist me in knowing the proper emulation combinations that work using any of the emulation software such as Virtual PC,Q,Softwindows and the hardware you are using? Do any of you have dual processors when u use emulation?? What operating systems have you been successful in using?

any help will be appreciated

I had SheepShaver, BasiliskII and Fusion_PC running natively and in VM´s.
Not sure what you are after exactly, running a Mac emulator "natively" seems preferrable to me, unless you have tons of RAM and a strange host OS. Smile
Ready made executables for BII and SS are available over at Emaculation, as you may know.
Very new cpus and 64bit host systems may have issues with SheepShaver.
In such case I would rather look for a compatible (secondary) host OS than for a VM.

Hi 24 bit, I am trying to use Windows on Mac which seems insane to cut down machines running,(you end up with a broiler in your room sooner or later from heat) and was asking for the best emulator for Windows, ram is not an issue. I am going to take a look at Fusion_PC thats a new one to me.

Thanks

What kind of Mac do you have? If you have OS X, I've got Parallels Desktop 7 with both XP and 98 on my MacBook Pro with OS 10.8.

I see. Windows on PPC hardware - sounds like driving a car with square wheels. Smile
Better look for a used Lenovo T60 or T61 for running W7. The TPs became quite affordable on flea bay. (T60 should also run 10.6.8 and T61 10.7.5)

Hi 24bit, have tons of X86 machines, with Windows Security being messed up and the only way i can think of is use Linux and a Windows Virtual on Virtual box that may be my only choice. Ebay im staying away from also with hacked passwords for a bit. I am thinking of however going in a different direction using an eServer under Linux then Windows...lol could use my Cisco Pix but that has been sitting for awhile and I am lazy programming it...

The only workaround for WIN on PPC seems to be this: http://macintoshgarden.org/apps/virtual-pc-7
One of your X86 rigs disconnected from the net will do a much better job running W2K or XP.
X86 software on RISC cpus will not play well.
