I know that Finale isn't abandonware, but it's still Classic application, so I would ask about it here. I bought Finale 2004 for Mac. It works on Mac OS X Jaguar and later. However, MakeMusic posted update, Finale 2004b(and 2004c, which includes 2004b) which adds compatibility with Mac OS 9.1 and later. Updater works both on Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X, but Finale Installer doesn't.

So, how can I make my Finale work with Mac OS 9? I tried to install Finale on OS9 partition, while running Jaguar, then updating, but it doesn't work at all. I also installed FreeMIDI and OMS. Nothing works, it keeps saying "Finale has encountered an error. Please re-install Finale."
