I recently bought a copy of FontAgent 8 on ebay. The package arrived safely but when I tried to use it I found the license key the seller provided was incomplete. The software manufacturer was using a 2-tier registration scheme. The key printed on the package was supposed to get emailed to them in return for a second key. The combo would then unlock the software.
So I contacted the manufacturer. Here is their response:
"Hello Gary!
I'm sorry that the key did not work. Unfortunately, this issue might need to be take up with the eBay seller because we don't even have the ability to generate FontAgent 8 keys anymore as that software is over a decade old. The best we can offer to do to help you is to sell you an upgrade, but I assume you sought FontAgent 8 because you need strict Mac OS 9 compatibility. Like I said, we could sell you an FontAgent Pro 3 at an upgrade price. FontAgent Pro 3 has Classic support, but that means you'd need to run it in OS X in the Classic environment.

Well using X-classic mode isn't going to happen. So is there any hope for me getting this package working on my OS 9 system?
