Lunar Lander or Something similar.
@MacWise
I won that eBay bid you tipped me to & it arrived in the mail about 10 minutes ago! 8^ ]
@CaryMG: You are more than welcome. How big is the CD? Can it be uploaded over here?
•The original Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six game.
•Battle Tanks
•Troubled Souls
•Klingon Honor Guard
@j_damage•69:
Troubled Souls is already up. Enjoy. I'll add your other requests to the wanted list except for Klingon Honor Guard because it's already there.
I was reminded of a great puzzle game called 'Snood' that I'm pretty sure was included on a MacFormat cover disc. You had to shoot cartoon faces at each other and they would be eliminated if three or more were in contact. It was awesome - anyone know what I'm talking about? I'd love to play it again.
Yeah I know Snood, it was funny.
How 'bout -GOO-
it was an App where you could Morph Faces from Pics
I remember that was the very first Sofware I ever bought, the box was green.
I have something called "Kai's Power GOO SE" (Special Edition). Don't know if it's the same thing but I remember using it and it fits the description. I think it shipped for free with some old mac. Shall I upload it?
@ Carl, Yep, That's the one I'm referring to, would you please share it
?
Thanks for the MacFormat reference. I have Snood v1.1, v2.0, v2.1 and a v3.0 (for Mac OSX).
Uncompressed, v1.1 is 740KB, v2.1 is 1.5MB, v3 is 8.6MB. v2.1 came with something called SnoodEdit.
No specific game, but more a genre. Britons, Germans and Italians are all europeans and they all love soccer manager games
.. I'm sure there were plenty of them in the 80s and 90s. I'm looking for some of these and would appreciate any uploads. Thank you
@Bolkonskij,
Any old version of Championship Manager, perhaps 00/01, or CM4. They're all dual platform, so find it in a PC game shop for $2.
I've uploaded it.
http://macintoshgarden.org/apps/kais-power-goo
It's too big for you to download right now, though. Also, I think I made the CD image mac-only by mistake. Didn't realize it was a hybrid until it was too late. Oh well.
Thanks, I appreciate that,
I guess we have to wait until the Garden goes back to normal.
@MacWise
Sorry for the late response.
TIE Fighter's 111MBs big.
I don't know if I can upload something that big to Macintosh Garden
so I'll put it on one of those online filesharing websites.
Those filesharing websites are as slow as shit & I'm a little pressed for time right now
but I''ll do it tomorrow and have the download URL ready for ya !
Sorry for the late response.

Yeah you do that because right now nothing bigger than a few megabytes is available from this server.
By the way I'm not complaining. It's shocking to see that leeching had gone so bad. I think that even after the problem's solved we should keep uploading to filehosting services as a way to help Maedi with the bandwidth and to make sure the file's available for real, because it seems only a handful of seeders this site is all is going to get. Then after a while the file can be uploaded here (because filehosting services are not eternal).
@CaryMG:
You can upload it; you just won't be able to download it later. But it will be there once the site is back in order.
Right now we need donations to pay for better hosting.
I used to get scared playing Frankenstein Through The Eyes Of The Monster when I was younger. Hopefully someone has this. I definitely wanna play it.
Heya, just thought I'd post this here too.
http://www.sendspace.com/file/feh5lr
F/A-18 Hornet 3.0, also comes with Korea. It's PPC only, and to be honest I haven't gotten great performance out of it using Sheepshaver. Runs great on actual OS9 machines though, the multiplayer is really fun! (Played it with my nephew).
@bertyboy thanks for the advice, however I'm the one that uploaded CM 00/01 to this site
Played it for month, but got boring now. Right now, I'm more looking for some of those text-based 80s soccer manager gems
@Balrog I have made another donation via paypal to hopefully speed up the process of moving to a new server. Thank you for all the work you both put into this. Can you give us some numbers on how much more donations are needed?
Sorry for the delay again but I'd overlooked that I had a Labor Day BBQ to attend.
My apologies.
TIE Fighter for Macintosh is here > http://drop.io/MacTIEFighter
8^ ]
When I click on the TIE FIGHTER.zip link nothing happens.
I used to have that problem with other browsers, MacWise.
When I used iCab, some website downloads'd work & some wouldn't
because of some sort of popup thingie that iCab wouldn't recognize.
Right now as I type this I'm using Snow Leopard/Safari 4.0.3.
When I click the TIEFighter.zip link another window opens with a DOWNLOAD button.
I click *that* & the download happens as normal.
Maybe if you try another browser or Safari, maybe ?
Is there anyone else having trouble ?
If enough people are havin' a tough time with this, I'll put it somewhere else.
Another filesharingsite, I mean.
Any recommendations for a free one that requires ZERO signup?
@CaryMG:
I'm using Firefox 3.5.2 on Windows XP. How is it possible that drop.io is not compatible with that? I don't mind downloading Safari for Windows, but if you are going to move the file to another service, I rather wait. I have used stashbox.org without trouble and they allow anonymous uploads (zero signup). It's your call.
Rebel Assault II just arrived from eBay ... it took me 8 hours to upload F-18 Hornet 3.0 so I have no idea how long it'll take me to share this, but when I find the time I'll do it and drop the links here.
Is .DMG okay like last time?
PS. Thanks for sharing TIE Fighter!
Is .DMG okay like last time?
No.
Because it came out in 1995 (tells Mobygames), so it's probably a Mac OS Classic game, while Mac OS prior to Mac OS X can't handle .dmg images.
If it is shipped on CD, please create a .cdr or .toast of it.
Otherwise, please create a Disk Copy 6.3 ".img" file.
Thanks for sharing TIE Fighter!
Does that mean you were able to download it?
(nods) roger!
With respects to F-18, people can still do something with that file though can't they? I mean ... burn CDs using it, or make new images, or convert it or whatever?
I hope I didn't waste anyone's time!
I was able to get TIE Fighter but it's a zip. Can't do anything with it. The application's resource fork is destroyed no matter what I open it with in the classic Mac OS.
@Attila:
Thank you for the warning. I managed to download it with Internet Explorer (a browser I don't touch unless it's absolutely necessary) and I was about to re-upload it a more friendly file hosting service when I read your post.
@CaryMG:
If you didn't know about zips destroying classic Mac applications, now you do. Can you create a toast image of the CD from your emulator? Toast images can be zipped just fine. And can you please upload the new file to a more cross-platform service? As I said, http://stashbox.org/ don't require membership for uploads and it works fine with both Mac and Windows browsers. Thanks for all your troubles.
I guess I have to buy a new REAL Macintosh cuz the .dmg files are Useless for people with Emulators
I downloaded 3 different converters to .ISO but all they do is just wrap the.dmg file inside an .ISO Package instead of converting them and thus also converting my CD's into new shiny drink coasters.
so I give up on these, too many headaches
...CHEERS!
If I might pop my head in for a sec;
the application file might be borked, but does that mean he has to upload the whole thing again? Or would uploading merely the application be enough?
Ouch
I went to find my copy of X-Wing (from the retromac server, at least I think that's where I got mine) and the DVD I burned it onto is corrupted. (smacks forehead) I've learned my lesson, I guess.
@CaryMG
Can you create a toast image of the CD from your emulator ?
Sorry for all the nonworkingness. lol
How do I create a toast image of the CD?
I don't use an emulator.
How do I create a toast image of the CD?
Easy: Insert the CD, drop its icon onto the Toast window and select "Save as Disc Image..." from the File menu. Remove the bullet from the filename, replace it with a .toast extension and compress the image with DroppStuff 5.5.
For those who want to play the first part, X-Wing, I hope you have Mac OS X because after a four-hours download I found out the .dmg can't be mounted with Disk Copy 6.5b13. Not that I'm surprised.
I'm going to do an upload tutorial and add it to the guides section. Enough is enough.
How do I create a toast image of the CD?
Every other CD burning application does this job, too.
Okey-doke -- I'll do that.
As far a .ZIPing it goes, can I use the StuffIt Expander?
As far a .ZIPing it goes, can I use the StuffIt Expander?
StuffIt Expander only expands compressed files, including zips, but cannot compress them. Unless that's what you want to do, expand a zip file.
If you want to do a zip archive use MacZip, but it would be better if you do a sit file with DropStuff.
That's too much work.
Hasn't someone downloaded it yet that can do all of that stuff?

If you mean the zipped Tie Fighter folder, again, the application is damaged beyond repair. You need to upload a fresh copy.
You may want to read A Beginner's Guide for Uploading Stuff to Macintosh Garden. It gives you step-by-step instructions about the whole process.
I'd love to see a number of games I couldn't afford back in the mid-1990s.
Battle Beast
Buried in Time
The C.H.A.O.S. Continuum
Heroes of Might & Magic (I think this is already on the list)
Return to Treasure Island
Small World Baseball
Small World Football
Small World Hockey
Small World Hoops
Star Trek Klingon
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Harbinger
Vikings
Wages of War
Wing Commander IV: The Price of Freedom
Did I get them all? Oh, well. Any of these would be great to see.
OK, my bad. I actually have Heroes of Might & Magic.
I'd upload, but it is beyond the size limit. The game alone is less than 100MB, but there are more than 400MB of audio tracks on the CD. I'm pretty sure the CD is required to run, and I've never tried to make a disk image of just the HFS partition (the CD is a hybrid HFS/CD-Audio) to run off that. I'd hate to upload another incomplete game after what happened with my Deadlock upload.
Anyway, from what I remember, Heroes of Might & Magic did not enjoy running under Mac OS 8.5.1. It crashed fairly frequently. So, either there is a bug fix somewhere out there, which I never found, or it would need to be run under an earlier Mac OS. Of course, this is all useless info if I can't upload it.
I'd hate to upload another incomplete game after what happened with my Deadlock upload.
I don't mind about that. When the full 500+ MB version of Deadlock is posted, I don't think I'm going to download it. The 14 MB trimmed-down version is good enough for me. So if Heroes of Might & Magic runs without the CD Audio partition, I say give it a go.
Or rip the audio tracks to mp3 and include them. Some of us can learn how to rebuild the full cd from those parts. Toast can burn these hybrid Mac OS / Audio cd's, so we'll find a way to do it and add a Wiki. There are many other games like this too, original Age of Empires was the first I came across, and managed to make copies for playing with.
OK, people. It seems Heroes of Might and Magic will run without the CD-Audio tracks. I'll upload the disk image, minus the Acrobat Reader installer and a couple other non-essential files. I'm unsure how to go about uploading the MP3s. Should I assume they should be encoded at 128Kbps? If I used VBR, should they be encoded at a higher rate? Also, should they be shoved into the same StuffIt archive as the disk image?
128kbps is more than enough, it's only going to be played through $15 computer speakers. VBR is just as good.
You could just add the mp3 files (please make sure they're numbered and named - so we put them back in the right order) to a folder with the Toast image of the game. Then Stuffit (or Zip) the folder. Hopefully it'll end up quite small, ie. I'd expect 500MB of audio to convert to about 35-50MB of mp3.
I don't expect Stuffit, or Zip to reduce the mp3's much, but it means you end up with a single file with everything we need.
Well, 128Kbps is good enough for many, but not me. Audio is actually my job, so little computer speakers and anything encoded below 256Kbps is not usually even a consideration.
It may take me a little time to get to those MP3s, but you can enjoy the game without them for now.
