I've temporarily put in a Google Ad at the bottom of every page, just to see if it would be a worthwhile option to cover the costs of hosting this site into the future.
Donations for the new server have been steadily coming in, much appreciated!

Good placement, does not disturb the site design.
They look as if they were created for Macintosh Garden.

Yes, it's surprisingly non-intrusive. I had not even noticed.
Should we be clicking on these ads ? Does it generate revenue for the site ? Or only if we actually buy something ?
Just DON"T Abuse clicking or they will cancel the AdSense account,
That happened to me at my web site, I told all my friends to click, and they
(in an effort to help me)
over clicked them many times, and my account was canceled...Do'h!
just wanna let you know that.
As long as they are not flash-based, I don't mind. I'm using Xubuntu on my old G4 and there is (and there will not be) a flash plug-in for the PowerPC, so flash content is unclickable. I can't contribute if I can't click.
Yes, please don't click on the ads unless you're personally interested.
Maedi,
So far I have only see one interesting ad (MacGameStore) so if we only click on things we're personally interested, I don't think it's going to work. ROM World ask users to vote once a day. I find that policy worth imitating. Let's click on one ad once a day. Since few people will actually follow suit (most people are leechers, here or anywhere else) it's safe to assume we're not going to overdo it.
On a related note, clicking on the aforementioned link I stumbled upon an interesting retro game called Machinarium. It's flash-based, so I'm going to try it with my Dell laptop. If I end up buying it, will it make any difference if I do it after following the Google Ad from here?
I'm not sure I like the idea of people deliberately clicking ads. If Ad's don't work, they don't work and we will find alternatives. Buying Machinarium will not benefit MacGarden directly (though the developers will catch on and keep advertising, maybe even targeting MacGarden users) I might just check this game out....
Yeah, I never click unless I'm genuinely interested. If I click on crap I don't like, people are going to get the wrong idea and flood the web with more crap!
Maedi,
You'll love it.
Attila,
I also click on ads that look interesting, not just any ad. But if you tell me to do it whenever I want, I'll probably won't click on any at all. So, I repeat, lets click on one ad once a day because only a handful of us is going to do it. Otherwise, this experiment will have the same outcome as BitTorrent--it will not work as expected.

No, just don't think about it. Everything will be okay... BTW, the Machinarium game is awesome, I want it!
I have faith in the future... It's the people I don't trust
I'm going to do what you say and not think about it. Time will tell who's right.
