HI to the Mac Community here...

Hello to all here..

Firs time posting on this forum....but I have been digging through this website non stop
for the past 2 weeks.. A Mac Newbie..but not new to computers games or emulation..

I own a I MAC 7 Core 2 Duo..installed VMAC on it..play some dark castle
and this little light went off in my head..hey wouldn't be cool...If I could make this modern mac..run every single piece of software from 1976 the apple I to 2011 MAC OSX..
well..OSX was already on there..

135 Hours later...and about 500 I Mac 7 Crashes later..I built 17 perfect non crashing virtual machines..which pretty well represents the entire apple time line..
it wan't my intention to emulate every single machine but represent
every single OS..and and major change.and even obscure systems..like the lisa..are
in there..I got all 9 MAC OS's running from 1.0 to 9.01.

MESS Took care of the early apple emulation apple I and IIC..era..
VMAC was a just a blessing for the Black and white OS's
Bassiilisk and sheepsaver for the modern color OS and 7.5 and up..8.1 9.0

and someone wrote a very nice lisa emulator .which was like pulling teeth to get
it to boot and work..but was well worth the effort..

IIGS was a litle tricky but did manage to get KEGS to run a pretty good IIGS
Hey apple people..would you like to buy a 1500$ commodore 64...yeah it's called
the IIGS..yeah I know it had some advanced color and graphic modes..but really
it was c -64 on steroids..but man did it have a nice sound chip in there..

Here's the official List of Machines my I-Mac 7 emulates

Apple I
Apple II+
Apple IIc
Apple Lisa
Apple IIGS
Apple III
Mac OS 1.0 128K Mac
Mac OS 2.0 128K Mac
Mac OS 3.0 512K Mac
Mac OS 4.0 512KE Mac
Mac OS 5.1 512KE Mac
Mac OS 6.8 Mac Plus
Mac OS 7.0 Mac Classic
Mac OS 7.5 Mac Classic
Mac OS 7.5 Quadro
Mac OS 8.1 Quadro
Mac OS 9.0 Quadro
Mac OS X Real Machine I - MAC 7..

I don't think I missed anything here...like I said..I wanted to represent the apple software
time line..not the hardware time line..I mean apple had a lot of computers that were very similar and ran the software but diffferent configs more memory..etc..
and I beleive that the above machine builds gives me access to everything..from
76 to 2011..if I missed anything..please post and point out...

Happy Mac to all..

P.S. For fun..I know. I know I know ..I need help..I recently restored an MAC SE / 30..an re built a G3 Machine..man that classic environment on os 9.22 is very very very nice.I mean I love my
bassislik and sheepsaver..on i mac 7..but man is classic 9.22 just friggin awesome for
mac os 7 , 8 , 9 apps..well it should be, it's the emulator written by the apple company!!!!!!!!!!!!! surprisingly it ran os 6.0 apps very badly crashed the machine
tons..my G3 400MHz..but installed VMAC os 9 version on it..and its all good..

if your pulling your hair out trying to get apps to run sheepsaver.and bassislisk.
not that they wont'..but anyone knows..sometimes you have to go the extra mile
to get that app or game to run on an emulator..get a G3.or G4 there cheap..and install
mac os 9.22 and use the emulator apple built..not for os.6..apps or games..but os 7,8,9
it don't get much better than a g3 or g4 with 9.22 on it..

Tons of games I couldn't get to run in sheep saver or bassilisk ran like a dream in 9.22
classic environment..I stress 9.22..the G3 Had O SX on it with a 9.22 system folder
and it ran the classic environment like total crap...I thought the classic environment sucked
ass til I booted the machine in 9.22 and started using it.. In OSX the classic environemtn
could not run slime invaders.with pausing and skippig...I was like WTF.##?#?#??!?!!!!!

everything ran like butter when booted in 9.22..could be the classic environment works
better on OSX machines with more CPU power..but G3 only had 400 MHZ in it..

Good Night to all gotta get some sleep..

For Apple IIGS emulation, you could also try Sweet16,
but I've also checked KEGS in the past.

That´s an entertaining idea I´ve been trying to do on my PC,
I have all kinds of emulators from Applewin
(on this, when I´m bored, I´m building a catalog with screenshots of all the software of the Apple // era),
also have: SoftMac, VMac, Basilisk, Sheepshaver,

my awesome machine can handle almost anything.

I only need the LISA and IIGS emulators and software,

...BTW Coffee is good.

I setup lisa on mac osx..and it was rough...but I got it done in the end..and am
very happy with it..the version of kegs..that I got..said it only ran through the terminal
but it ran find through the finder..other iigs emulators for osx had u manually edit
a config file for mounting new images..the version of kegs had this built right in
no text editing..just select image and mount will check out sweet 16

Well, there's A/UX (Apple Unix), which only ran on a limited range of 68K Macs, and as far as I know cannot be emulated.

The MESS project may someday emulate the Apple Pippen too (and A/UX), someday far in the future...! (but thankfully the Pippen plays burnt ISOs)
