dual 867 MDD - Nah - dual G5 Mac Pro - Yes!!

http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/hobart-cbd/desktops/apple-mac-desktop-com...

It comes with Apple LCD screen and what looks like LaCie external firewire HDD.

HOLY CRAP, I don't think that is a misprint?!

Someone please buy this (it is about 6 hours from me) Sad

It still has Mac OS X 10.3.9 on it, so hasn't been used much lately Smile

"...I don't think that is a misprint?!"

The pic is of a Mirrored Door Mac, not a Quicksilver... looks in good order tho'.

They have changed it from $30 to "Negotiable", so may have been a misprint :/

Still, a neat looking system.

Never mind... have found a dual-G5 liquid-cooled, 2.5GHz (x2) 2.5GB RAM (I have more to put in), 2 x 250GB RAID-1 (will convert to RAID-0), AGP Radeon 9600 128MB (will try flashing my PC 9550 256MB), also have compatible USB2.0 card. It comes with BT2 and Airport Extreme cards. Pioneer DVD-RW (original).

AUS$100

not a bad buy at all.

I will sell my original 700MHz G4 "sunflower" iMac to help pay for this. It has SATA DVD-RW and a crapload of OS9 software/games.

Yeah, it's this one -

Pretty darn impressive specs, with Bluetooth and of course, Airport Extreme included Smile

Liquid cooling looks perfectly intact too.

Yup, this little baby is going to have 4GB min RAM, and 500GB of RAID-0.

I will attach my 3TB external, and it will be my media centre (apparently it is whisper quiet, but I will need to test this for myself). Nothing has been as quiet as my Core-i3 mid-2010 iMac.

It will have a 19" Benq 4:3 LCD (1280x1024) connected via DVI. It has a 2600XT Radeon, so is quick enough.

Should have it delivered by next Friday... hate waiting for payday.

That is one nice G5, i have one of those myself Smile

One word of advice, keep a eye on the LCS, mine leaked, but luckily it didn't do too much damage

I had the guy take photos of both CPU's and the base of the unit before I committed to purchasing.

Smile

It looks like the most RAM I can manage is 6GB (4x1GB and 4x512MB), the 1GB DIMMs may not be compatible tho, actually, I am unsure which of my RAM is PC3200, as a lot is unlabelled/mislabelled. The all have XXXMB DDR400, which I am hoping is the magic number.

Cheers.
