How to copy old mac disks on win 7 or win xp

Hello. I have a TON of old, classic mac SE and mac quadra software that I acquired on craigslist. I need to know how to copy this old software into some kind of usable format. I cannot appear to read any of the disks at all on my disk drives.

Please advise!

(P.s. I have a bunch of old manuals too including MICROSOFT WORKS for mac Smile )
also i have a mac se manual in MINT condition omfg:)

This has been discussed here several times. I would suggest to search the forum. If i find the links i will post them for you, But before that, if any of those floppies are low density disks (800 or 400k) there is no power in the world that will read those floppies on a PC. When reading the disks, i assume you tried to read them in a running emulator? Windows is not capable to read mac formatted floppies natively.

If we are talking about floppies, your Centris 610 would be my choice.
If your floppy drive and floppies are good, use DiskCopy 4.2 to create images of your floppies.
The images can be stored on HDD or elsewhere for posterity and can be mounted with MacOS 7 to 9, may it be with real hardware or an emulator.

Pretty cool your babysitter did let you play with the Mac. Smile

With Windows, HFV Explorer or (even better) Basilisk II Build 142 does read Mac HD floppies fine.
