I had a perfect eMac 1.25GHz USB 2.0, then I used the hard drive in an original XBOX, now I have unlocked and disabled security on the drive, and reinstalled everything in the eMac, the HDD no longer awakens from sleep!!!
Needless to say, this is very annoying.
Anyone come across this problem, or hear of a solution?

Does the computer boot from a CD so that you can try DiskWarriror or HardDiskTool Kit or the like?
First, get your OS Cd and try to boot from it, pushing C while starting the machine. If you can manage to boot from it, disk utility can give you a clear aspect of the problem.
Anyway, you´ll probably need to reformat that disk (the last consecuence and the last resource).

Did you reset the PMU reset button after re-introducing the drive? This should be done any time you make hardware changes. Check the status of the clock battery too.
The hard drive is perfect (newly formatted to MacOS Extended for PPC) via Leopard boot DVD.
@Mike Garden may have hit the nail on the head - the clock battery is DEAD as DEAD can be... it is the last item to fix on the system (except maybe buying an Airport Extreme card).
I don't think the eMac has a PMU button (the iBook does tho), there is a key combination on boot (ala PRAM reset) that works on machines without the hardware button. It sounds like this may be the case, although I did not make any changes to hardware (same drive out and back in), and didn't restart the machine in the interim.
The PMU reset and new PRAM battery should fix the problem - I will be reinstalling a new drive anyways, as the old one is now in a rebuilt Windows PC.
