Does anyone know where I can find or buy Return to Zork MPEG edition for the Mac? It was a version of Return to Zork that was playable using special MPEG decoder hardware from Apple.

This is an article about the MPEG PC version but Mac version also exists. It originally shipped with the Apple MPEG card for the Mac, so there are copies of it around. We just need to find at least one.

Might have found a copy of this one in a recent clean-out cardbox… At least the print says 'MPEG Version'.
Edit:
There´s at least two more titles in this bunch specifically demanding MPEG capable Mac; 'Ocean Life' and 'Wild Africa'. Both states 'Hybrid CD ROM'. Guess this came budled with the MPEG Card equipped Mac. Should there be more titles in that bundle? Got this in a cardboard box without HW. Anyone interested?

I wonder would they work on newer ATi cards with built-in MPEG decoding? Or do they need the specific daughtercard chip.

Which ATI-cards had that? Tried with a ATI Rage Pro (16MB) but got black screen whenever there should be a clip.

Hmm, that I'd have to check. I just assumed that at some stage the ATi cards had the hardware mpeg decoding incorporated. Perhaps it would take a Radeon.
