Mac O/S 6.0.4

Hi, y'all!

6.0.4 is NOT available from Apple's site. I found the disk images for it on "develop, the disc; issue 2", a CD-ROM published by Apple in 1990. Any interest?

Yeah, it wouldn't be a terrible idea to add it to this archive.

Looks as if it's already available. See the post by sheepmyshaver123 on October 6th on the "ABOUT" page.

My old classic came with 6.0.8 (still available from Apple, last time I looked on their FTP). How much difference would there be from 6.0.4? Colour? anyone?

@themacmeister: I can't speak for 6.0.4 but I do know the only difference between 6.0.7 and 6.0.8 was the printer drivers; 6.0.8 was released specifically to give compatible AppleTalk/Networked print drivers for shared printers of Macs running 6.x and the ultra new, soon to be released 7.0 over the same networks.

Color was available with the first Mac II. This pre-dates SSW 6.0, as the Mac II shipped with Mac OS SSW version 2.0 (source; Mac Spec database).

I did have a developers document about System 6.0.4, documenting all the new changes. It was quite an extensive tome. I remember thinking at the time "Wow!" at all the cool new stuff. I'll see if I can find it, no promises 11TB of my 13TB storage are packed up for their 12,000 mile journey.

Mostly CD/DVD disc images - magazine cover discs and original media - and ripped movie and tv show DVDs for iTunes and about 5TB of free space - across 17 disks. I still sometimes run out of space on a particular disk, so some file juggling is required.
