Mac OS9.0.4, 9.1, 9.22 (German)

Hello,
I wonder if anybody is willing and able to upload the files.
This is not a big thing, as I have the US international versions, would be nice to have still.

Please forgive me hoisting up this old topic:
I found the updates at Apple's FTP, so don't worry about the detailed version, please.
A plain German OS9 retail for SheepShaver or my 7100 would be nice to have.
Certainly someone has a CD?

I have v9.1 but that doesn't help for Sheepshaver, I guess - I believe it needs 9.0.4 (which I don't have).

Yes, the Shaver can only run 9.0.4 at most.
Would you upload 9.1 (to mediafire) anyway?
I could try it with my iMac or the 7100.

9.1 probably won't work on the 7100: http://www.os9forever.com/Compatibility.html
but maybe on the iMac. I do not have a Mediafire account but will send a bootable CD via snail mail. Please give some days. If you wish you can upload the CD to your Mediafire account.

sheepshaver123, oh, I didn't know. Thanks for the hint. However, I have already sent out the CD to 24bit. If he has a personal Mediafire account the image might stay longer available for download. Also, I am not exactly an expert in creating bootable images. I hope 24bit is better in this than me.

24bit, the ROM of the CD is v6.1 as of November 2000. If your iMac is older than that the CD should boot with no problems. The Apple updaters downloadable on the web will update the ROM to v8.x (I forgot which version exactly).

Thank you very much, xy!
My iMac is from 98-10-31 you know - but as it runs US9.2.2 it should work with D9.1 as well, I guess.
I´ll wait and see.
I did not pay much attention to the new world ROMs version so far.

My pleasure. I hope the baby boots. I tested the CD before sending: it does boot my 1999 Lombard.

It should work fine. A 98 manufacturing year means it's an original iMac which would have come with either 8.1 or 8.5.

Oh, it does work fine indeed.
The iMac's optical is out of order at the moment, but I managed to install with a USB DVD drive finally. Is anybody aware of a fix for the 24x Apple CD drive?

There is currently an offer on German Ebay for 24x Apple iMac drives by a professional vendor (so that you do not need to be an Ebay member to buy, and, very important, get warranty):

Thanks for the pointer! What would you offer to pay for such used device?
Are there other (better) slim lines, that would also fit into my iMac?

Do not think of me as unthankful please, but the D-9.1 CD has been altered in early 2008 by some OSX machine, probably. There are folders beginning with a dot on it. The OS installs fine, but the disk is maybe not that interesting for collectors.

If someone would want me to upload it anyway, please tell me.

I got the CD from someone who sold me my second hand Lombard in 2008 since the restore CD of the Lombard was lost. I think he burned the copy from the original CD on Mac OS X. I myself do not have the original, either. For collectors this might not be of interest, you are right, but for users who urgently need a working German boot CD it might be useful because the CD boots fine. Sorry for the mishap, I didn't know myself and never cared because I never had problems with the CD. I would be interested how this could have happened. Does burning on Mac OS X alter Mac OS classic boot CDs?

Thats right, it boots fine.
It even booted my PPC7100/80AV and I could install 9.1 on the second attempt.
Sofware Update is still working too! The disk is very useful for me indeed. Thanks again, xy.
I guess I could remove the .something files from the image and upload it, if someone wants it.
So far there seems to be little need, if any, for Kraut OS Smile

If someone could donate a D-9.0 for SheepShaver, my little collection would be rather complete.

Can you list all of your items from your collection?

@sheepmyshaver123: I already gave you the distracker file with my CD´s some time ago, and I have seen all my uploads on your mediafire place meanwhile.
But don´t get me wrong, it´s a good thing to have someone collecting all classic OS´s. I only wish D-9.0 was there too.

24bit, Mac OS 9.0.4 is good not only for Sheepshaver but also for Word 2001. Every Mac OS above Mac OS 9.0.4 crashes Word 2001 if you have automatic hyphenation on.

These are the DL's for the German 9.1, just in case...

Maybe someone could verify them? I am not very fond of mediafire's new gadgets, they are more disturbing than helpful.
