macintoshgarden search function

Okay, so who's in charge of this website now? You should tell your little sister she can't work on it anymore. Then take a comp sci class, e.g. 101, and learn how to program. Then fix the search function so it *assumes* you mean AND, e.g. if you type "photoshop 7" (no quotes), it will return pages that have *both* of the search terms (resulting in waaay fewer hits than if it assumes OR). Follow? THEN, fix search so quotes work. I typed "photoshop 7" (with quotes) in the search box and did NOT get the page that actually has PS7! Jeez.

I got it as the top link both times I tried it (with and without quote marks). You do have to delete all the text in the search field (i.e. "search...") before you put your own text in.

I don't get it, the search box works perfectly for me .... maybe I'm doing something wrong ?

The quotes do work. It is odd that they didn't work for you.

I guess what this guy wants is a search function that searches only titles, rather than titles and descriptions. This would cut down on the number of search results. For example, a search for "Photoshop 7" would result in just one result instead of the six results it does now.

To reduce the number of results, you can do a variety of "advanced" searches... though not a search of just titles.

PS: Why are we engaging in conversation someone who is so hostile?

Tsk. Tsk. No need to be so rude, @turtlecroc Sad.

Balrog works very hard and puts his time into this site!

I detect a troll.

Yep. Blaming someone who does something for free and in his spare time isn't really smart. I'm very thankful for Balrog's work to keep the Mac Garden up & running.
