Make disks for me?

I would be willing to pay someone to make Comic Strip Factory 3 1/4 floppies for me. I have a Mac SE with two 800K drives and a 20 MB external HD.

I have the disk images I could email them to you if you create the floppies and send them to me. I will pay for your labor and floppy disks.

Hi Rich, none so far. I really want this program more than any other. I had a Mac SE yers ago, bought it new, had to sell it for financial reasons but now got back into it. I even contacted David Durkee and Trici Venola (she now lives in Turkey), the authors of it. David sent me some disk images and it works under MiniVMac but now that I have an SE again I'd rather have floppies as I don't have the knowledge or hardware to port them to a Mac SE from an iMac or a PC, it would be easier of someone in the States does it for me.

As I said, I'd be willing to pay for this work done for me, within reason of course. I'm located in Atlanta.

I don't know how one PM's on this site so I would have to give you my email I guess and we could go from there. This was and is my all-time favorite program. I have been though a lot of Macs and PCs and even have a brand new iMac fresh out of the box this past Monday but there is no program like CSF anywhere on any platform. I love the ability to create comics as they designed it.

Thanks.

Paul

From what I gathered, Belethor has everything up and running with his SE - including a FDHD upgrade.
Thanks for caring!

Sounds like another candidate for networking.

Thanks guys, especially 24bit. I have everything set up now.
I seldom check here because of the forum software, it never sends me an email reply when someone responds to my posts like other forums.

Hey! I am new to MG. I do have the original set to "CSF" buried somewhere. I hope my old lady didn't chuck it out. Last time I 'd use it. I had the original diskettes, instruction book and copy of the second set of artwork. I vaguely remembered that I made backup copies on 800k diskettes. I mentioned on my intro.. that the misses had chuck out much of my hardware(SE, Plus, etc..) and I taken the precaution of making disk images just in case. If I find it and I have the backup copies? I can let you get the backups. Email me with an offer! I do take "PayPal".

Like I posted, I don't have my SE and Plus, anymore(reason not to get hitched).
I don't know if and when I'll get another one. USB floppy drive I currently have. Have been getting error write messages on the 800k disk. Only way that i can make diskettes are on 1st Gen Macs. No computer stores in my area carry the blank 800ks anymore, either. I rather not part with my original diskettes if I can. BTW, I have see if I still got them or not!

Mr Mikethemac02, if you read carefully, Belethor is pretty much setup right now. Unless he tells us otherwise, he doesn't need physical media anymore. You mention you have disk images, why not upload them here? You would help a larger community by doing that.
Also, you may want to know that 800k floppies can be created on any mac with built-in floppy, or apple branded floppy module (PowerBook G3, PowerBook Duos for example). That's almost 14 years of macs. And you can use high density floppies if you can't find 800k ones, just cover with tape the hole at the right.

MacJames; if you read carefully of MY post. I no longer have my 1st Generation Macintoshs. So I am unable to make copies of these disks. I am quite aware powerbooks can do this as well. I'm running my OS9 Apps on Clamshell Ibook, which i am using USB floppy drive. I been having problems making 800k diskette due to a ERROR message which I tried to fix. I made images from the original floppies and backups as a safe guard a long time ago. Good thing I did! As for uploading, it looks like this site has it already. If Belethor doesn't have a need of them? OK then.
As per this message, haven't come across my CSF Set as of yet.

Yep i read that. I also read that you have errors creating those disks. USB floppy drives can't do that, that's why you are getting errors.

Not really - we have some of the artwork for some of the characters from the add-on disks. Many of the body parts have been assembled into figures or otherwise clumped together, making them unusable; many other characters are missing; and we have none of the backgrounds or props from these disks. If you find your disk images of CSF, please upload them!

I found what I could and uploaded here. Its listed as "Comic Strip Factory" under "visual arts and graphics". Tried to compress. Had problems. Here's what you get! "dsk" format of Program, Data1, Data2, Office Days1, Office Days2 And Kids stuff1. I'm not sure if i am missing "dsk" containing "The House". When you download it. i hope it will decompress! Other that. I tested before compressing. the program is working fine. If i find the book. I'll get scan and uploaded.

The Instruction Book is Here!! Finally manage to reduce it so it will upload! The quality is what it is since I don't have a scanner(Digital Photo each page and sections). This PDF format is the MOST complete that you will see! Its listed as "Comic Strip Factory" under "visual arts and graphics". ENJOY and have Fun!
