There is a memory card game I remember from my early childhood.
I can't remember it's specific name. I have done various searches here at Macintosh Garden with no luck.
This game has music and sound effects. There is a set of white squares that you flip over and try to find a pair that is are the same.
Also a disturbing fanfare sounds whenever you start a new game or something.
Anyone have any idea what this game is?
There's maybe a few dozen possibilities. Can you narrow it down by remembering:
which sort of Mac you played it on ? ie. compact, Mac II / LC / Quadra, PPC, iMac, etc.
when ? 80's, 90's, 00's ?
colour ? B & W ?
anything else about the game, icon ? shareware ? background colours ? cool features ?
It was on a Performa. It had colors. There was background music and sounds. It was during the 90's.
I could try to draw the best I can remember.
I have a few very old color games I remember playing on my Performa that may be, possibly, exactly to what you're thinking.
Don't get your hopes up, though, I need to import it into Basilisk first.
I won't get my hopes up.
And if it ends up not being what I'm looking for, I'll send you a computer drawing of what my mind can remember.

I searched through that section and found this: A game called "Memory" ironically.
I'm pretty sure its not the game that you're seeking, but it looks very similar to your description of the game and the picture you posted. Perhaps this is an earlier B/W version of it.
And along on a similar theme: "Double Vision" and "On The Contrary II".
Perhaps even in a pack of various games? See "Expert 40 Games the enclosed game called "CardMatch" may be a possibility here.
