MG uploader

Can we please have a new uploader?
I am suffering from a very poor bandwith. I am willing to re-upload some old items.
The current uploader is not very helpful, as it can not preserve data aready upped.
I am trying to re-up Apple Anthology.img.sit (627MB), but I´m on it for the fourth time now.
Either Safari crashes, bandwith resets or I´m kicked out of the forum.
This starts to get annoying. Sad

That would be very frustrating and annoying, 24bit.

A resume function would be awesome...

I haven't struck the kick out during uploading so far (touch wood) but I do have a static IP address. If yours is dynamic, then this could be a problem perhaps. I don't use Safari either. SeaMonkey here, I find its more like the Netscape/Mozilla of yore, but modern.

A better uploader would be really helpful to me. My upload speed is throttled by my ISP, so uploads take ages. Lately, I have had my uploads to the Garden terminated by the host when I use Firefox. But I have had more success recently with Safari... curious given your experience 24bit. Furthermore, for some reason, uploads to the Garden slow down my other internet accesses to a crawl.

One suggestion is to use ftp to upload files and then use the browser interface to the Garden to link the files to the relevant pages. I find that ftp transfers to max1zzz's server to be really convenient as they barely affect my other internet usage.

I have no problem when uploading files to Macintosh Garden. For example, I have uploaded five Mac OS 9 discs without problems. I use Firefox 29 Windows.

Another protocol might help.
If Knez would grant limited access via SFTP (or else) one could later merge it with the Garden´s data base.
There is nothing wrong with Max´s server, mind you.
I merely feel its nicer to have things in one place, if possible.

For me it does not make a difference where I upload, if the upstream is busy, downstream is affected in so far as only few requests are going out. Therefore over all downstream does suffer. Data rate down is not affected though.
