Monty Python-esque hypercard-like animation from old MacFormat(1990's) CD's

Someone save me the effort of searching through my old cd's!!

I believe a MacFormat reader submitted these to be included on the CD's. The app name contained the authors name.
It was a weird mix of animation and a small amount of interactivity, that looked like a monty python animation. Including 1940/50's style clip art.

Any ideas anyone?
thanks

are we sure that it wasn't a collection of Monty Python sounds in the stack ?

I've scanned my DiskTracker library containing all the MacFormat CDs for Stacks (11,000+ were found) and cheked all those > 1MB - nothing suitable.
I have the 5 ot 6 Monty Stack stacks, with MPFC audio and icons. They're about 200KB each. Is it those ?

Or was it a demo for MP & the Quest for the Holy Grail? Links for the full game here, I don't know if this link is still active tho'.

Sorry, it actually has nothing to do with monty python, it just reminded me of the monty python animations. Also, it could've been made in macromedia director or similar. I'm really curious to find out the story behind them.

Do you remember when there was a 'User Submissions' folder on the CD's? I'm pretty sure it's in one of those. Possibly the guys first name was Frank, but that's a stab in my dark mind.

As always, I really appreciate the effort!

Hi, yes I do remember the folder you mention, it was normally full of artwork, with a little shareware.

Alas I have almost every CD / DVD indexed, and this extends to millions of files. But that "Frank" has helped me find that it may be "Frank Morrow" who seems to have been a prolific contributor. I'll need some time to work through the contributions, trying to get them to run in a more recent OSX.

Judging by your description, the animation you're speaking about was probably made by Vince Collins. He did a large series of these weird "Ultra-Media" animations way back when...

Ryan, you are a legend! So is Vince!!!
Thankyou so much for figuring this out with my cryptic(and evidently slightly off the mark) description. Well done, I owe you a coke. You too bertyboy.

Do you have a copy of these apps? It'd be great to upload them here.

Unfortunately, no. I'd love to seek them out someday, though.
