Move System downloads?

There has been a recent rash of System Installer/Recovery discs, and it is beginning to clutter up the board. Would it be possible to move these into their own section of the site? It isn't really a Game or App, so it would be good (organisation wise) to have its own section.

This might prove to be too expensive for those who uploaded the huge system files. Now, they are sort of scattered and hidden in the labyrinths of MacGarden. If they are easily accessible through a separate section, however, many more people might download.

I wonder if something can't be done about the multiple versions of the same OS version. Is there a way we can collect all the specialized versions of each OS revision. I mean all the 7.5 versions on one page for example.

I just purchased a Powerbook G3 series. It's original OS was 8.6. So I would go to the 8.6 page and see the disk for my computer in a download listed there, if it had a special install disk.

Consolidating multiple versions of apps as well would be good idea. For example, there's been 3 uploads recently for GoMac. One page with all 3 versions would be tidier. In most cases, the description will be the same across different versions of a program.

I'm on the fence about consolidating versions of apps. In some cases it works, and in some cases it doesn't. It's probably too complicated to even come up with some guidelines for this, and even if we had them I'm sure they wouldn't be followed. So what I've concluded is, in my opinion, it doesn't really matter.

I'm more concerned about WHAT the version is, and sometimes folks leave that off from both the title and the description, thus making for a mystery download. It's important to those that already have a copy of the app, and are wondering "is this version newer, or older than what I have" (updates do come out during the same year so annual comparisons don't always work).
