my wired/ftp server

i have a small collection of software on a wired i would upload it to the main site but i don't have the time (well it's not so small anymore)
*IMPORTANT UPDATE*
wired server: get the client here : http://www.mediafire.com/?dvjaar4cd9ud17i (Mac), http://www.mediafire.com/?8s2c5g8kzpalgwb (Windows) Ftp users can login using their ftp accounts by pressing connection -> connect and using the existing ftp address with :3000 on the end)
*IMPORTANT UPDATE*

Ftp is back using the mr account !!

address:

Ftp: classic-mac.dyndns-ip.com
User:mr
Pass:mr

Wired: classic-mac.dyndns-ip.com:3000
there is no user or pass for wired (ftp users can use thair ftp accounts to log on to wired a vice versa)

feel free to upload any old mac software you may have

Download is on at 5kb/s
uploading will get you a account which has much faster download (just put a text file with the user/pass you want along with the name of the file you uploaded in the accounts dropbox)

My server is now available on wired! (same rules from ftp apply on wired, people with accounts can login using their ftp accounts)

Thanks. You've got a nice collection there. I'll check it out and compare to see if anything is not listed here at MG.

Some files indeed do not seem to be available on MacGarden. However, I have tested some of the img-files; Disk Copy and ShrinkWrap say images are corrupted and cannot be opened. Possibly they did not survive way through the internet.

Those images need to be Stuffed first. They're Disk Copy 6.x images, which contain critical data in the resource fork.

max1zzz: can you please stuff them with StuffIt, and put them back on the server in that format?

sure i will do that tomorrow
edit: am i going to need to do this back on the 8600?

am i going to need to do this back on the 8600?

Anyway, this is the best option, as the native System of the files.

The stuffing? You need to use a Mac with OS 9 or older to do it, and use Stuffit 5.x (it's somewhere here).

Concerning the 8600, yes we could use its ROM Smile

Do we need a ftp program for the connection to the server?

Dimitris1980: Yes. I've recently switched to FireFTP which is an add-on to Firefox. It's not a heavy weight FTP client but it should serve you well in this case.

The archive includes PageMaker 3.5 (with English dictionary). MacGarden has only v3.0.1. Thanks max1zzz.

@max1zzz
I have put up a load of different languages of System 6 onto mediafire.com. Check out this thread here on MG for links (some of the later posts): http://macintoshgarden.org/forum/localized-system-60x-and-us-english-sys...

I also have most of the 6.0.5 international language versions lying around. If you want them too, just tell me.

Would you happen to have access to developer CDs vol. V through VIII? Most of the international 6.0.7/6.0.8 OS versions are present on those. I know the user UFK has them (based on a inventory listing of about 270 different Apple CDs he presented in a thread here on the MG forum some time ago), but they don't seem to have been uploaded anywhere yet. If the user UFK reads this, I hope he (or she) would be so kind as to upload them onto your ftp-site or anywhere else on the web?

That would be great. I see your ftp-site is growing fast by the way. Excellent job.

I have just started uploading to the max1zzz wired server. I can provide Vol 5,6,8,9,10 - but no Vol 7. Maybe someone else can help us with Vol 7?

I don't believe these particular CDs are archived on Pandora. I have looked myself several times in different folders. I am however able to successfully complete downloads from Pandora, so if you have located vol. V-VIII there, I can download them if you tell me where you found them. Pandora is real slow to download from, but I don't know why you are yanked out on timeout though, that never happened to me.

Nice collection of stuff! That puts my small number of ROMs on Redundantrobot.com to shame. Once I get my iMac out of storage I'll be making a few downloads from your site.

Return to Castle Wolfenstein? One of my favorite WWII games. I know how to convert the PC version to play on Mac. If anyone want to know how, ask (its easy).

yeah it one of my favourite games too bit i have a proper mac version

I know what you mean; You have the original Mac CD of the game.
This conversion creates a "proper" Mac version of the game from the PC version. It is (probably) of interest only to someone who has the PC version and would like to play it on a Mac, without needing to get the Mac CD version or DL it all over again. But if you were to put up an ISO of the Mac RtCW, then thats fine by me too.

@max1zzz: the rtcw is a "img" file and probably needs to be put into a Stuffit ".sit"
