OS 9 Software Install CD for Flowerpot iMac

I had to re-install everything on a m6498 iMac G4. After I wiped everything out, realized I only had the Software Install CD for an iMac DV and a PowerMac G4.

I read that you cannot use the retail disk to install it, and that you have to use the disc that came with it. Since I cannot locate it, is there anyway to get it? I didn't know if it was considered abandonware yet or not.

Thanks

I have the same mac model and I was able to use the emac version that is here

The trick is to get an install cd for a mac that is newer than yours. The newer disks will include the drivers for your computer. Unfortunately the retail disk was released before you machine was so it won't support it.

Just out of interest, which iMac G4 is it (speed, screen size, hard disk) ?

Someone here may have the original discs, or images of them.

It would have to be a 700MHz or 800MHz model ("lampstand" I'd call it) OS 9.2.2 bootable and shipped with OS 9.2.2 & OS X 10.1.2 pre-installed.

Someone out there once resurrected a dead "flowerpot" iMac; see project page here Wink

Actually, the iMac G4 all-in-one models are referred to as the "Sunflower" model internally at Apple. That's the design influence that drove Jonathan Ive to create that design.

And "lump-stick-rectangle" externally Wink
