Powerbook 160 hd diskimage

Hi,

I need to make a disk image of the hd in a Powerbook 160. The machine has a 40GB 40 pin SCSI hd and I cannot find a 40to50 pin converter. Any idea to make the disk image? Thanks

Why do you need a 40 to 50 pin converter? What are you trying make a disk image on?

The powerbook hd use 40 pin scsi.
My scsi connector is 50 pin scsi.
Once I get the disk image, I can use my tool to read the files.

You can get an HDI-30 to 50 pin Centronics SCSI connection if that helps. There are various SCSI connection ends to choose from but the HDI-30 is the important connector type for your 160.

Is there anything similar to target disk mode for PowerBook 160? If yes, I can use a HDI-30 cable to connect the machine to 50 pin scsi and make an image.

You're in luck. Its called "SCSI Disk Mode". - The PB 160 reintroduced SCSI Disk Mode to the PowerBook line, a feature previously found only on the PB 100. Here's a description of how to set it up. Info was sourced from "The Low End Mac. Hope it works out for you.
