Request: "LearnPS" HyperCard stack from John F. Sherman (1988)

I am searching for a hypercard stack called "LearnPS" to learn postscript authored by John F. Sherman from Carnegie Mellon University, released in autumn 1988 (link).

It was featured in some books on postscript technology by Peter Vollenweider from University Zurich (link).

Can this still downloaded anywhere ?

Thanks in advance !

Haven't been able to locate it in the usual places. Spotted an archived usenet post dated 1991 by someone asking much the same question as yours. There was no response to it tho'. - So I'm thinking this will be a rare find.

On John F Sherman's portfolio page there is a contact email address. Perhaps asking him personally would help to bring forth this elusive stack.

Also on Sherman's web pages there is a nice PDF book entitled "Taking Advantage of PostScript" which looks pretty good - its free, so thanks for bringing the topic up.

Thank you very much for the PDF book ! Laughing out loud

I tried to mail to his mail address "jsherman@nd.edu" but all my mails are bouncing back, saying "Mail cannot be delivered". Can someone check if this email address is valid, please ?

I've sent an email to that address asking about this stack. The mail hasn't bounced back so far. I'll keep you informed if it fails to deliver - or if we get a response.

Thank you MikeTomTom !

I tried it several times with my FreeMail account and check it with a web email checker but both failed. Perhaps some kind of spam filter ?

The PDF book "Taking Advantage of PostScript", that you linked earlier, seems to be the book that was originally accompanied by the "LearnPS" HyperCard stack for online exercises. (There are several "LearnPS" marks in the book pointing to them)

If you hear something new about it from the original author, please write here again ! ;D

YW, I got a response from John Sherman, saying he will try and locate a copy which he thinks he may have a copy of, but it may take a while to locate it if he still has that copy...

So far no reply as to whether he has located said copy... I'll post back here if it is found - If he makes it available, I'll make a page and archive it here.
