A game is asking that I set the monitor to be B&W/2-color mode, but the lowest on my mac (a 1999 clamshell iBook) is 256 grays. Am I SOL?

Many old games made for monochrome run way too fast on not so ancient hardware. 
Best set up MiniVMac. Emulating a Mac+ its B&W by design and it has a built in speed adjustment too.
