Setting up a hybrid environment

I am setting up a triple-boot disk as follows
Volume 1 Leopard
Volume 2 Tiger
Volume 3 Mac OS 9.2.2

I've discovered that if I format a volume as Mac OS Extended (Journaled) it won't mount when the system is booted into a standard 9.2.2 install.

I've read that if I initialize the volume as just Mc OS Extended, the volume won't be bootable as an X system. Is that true?

And if it is, do you know of some way to get Journaled disks to mount under Mac OS 9.2.2?

You need to format using Disk Utility under OS X, and INCLUDE MacOS 9 Driver when you do so. Then you can install MacOS9.

Hope that is of some help...
