Shrinkwrap Engine has reported an error

Hello,
I'm trying to download Kid Pix 1.2 on Basilisk II running 7.5.3

I've done this before on another computer - a big iMac - and it worked fine.
But now on my MacBook laptop (not MacBook Pro), whenever I try and open the .sit file from this website with Aladdin Stuffit 5.5 I get the above error message "Shrinkwrap Engine has reported an error" and Kid Pix won't open. I'm able to open Kid Pix 1.0, but I'd rather use 1.2.

I've tried using alternate versions of stuffit, as well as opening it as a disk image (that won't work either), and changing my disk space from 500 mb to 1000 mb (the other computer was set to 1000 mb).

It says that it contains DiskCopy 4.2 images compressed with stuffit 4: http://macintoshgarden.org/apps/kid-pix-12

Thanks for the help!

I am not getting this error on that file here. I just DL'd it to test on Basilisk II and extracted it using Stuffit Expander 5.5 - It results in a folder containing two Disk Copy 4.2 image files which I can mount on the desktop (using Disk Copy 6 to mount). All 100% normal and OK.

I suspect that you are trying to extract this file on a shared "Unix" drive and not inside an emulated hard drive. Note, even if you have moved the file to the BII Desktop from the Unix drive it is still actually in the Unix drive. You need to copy the file into the emulated BII hard drive before extracting & using it.

If my suspicion is correct, then don't extract or try to run files from inside the Unix drive. Treat it as a "go-between" drive for moving files in either direction only. Using files while inside of this drive usually has unpredictable results which are often fatal for the file.

That was most definitely the problem. Thank you very much.

Had the exact same problem of trying to expand the file on the shared Unix drive. Copying it over to the emulated HD first solved it perfectly. Thanks!

Extract the disk images to the desktop. Head into the Basilisk II GUI app to select the images to be mounted on the desktop of the emulator. Boot into it.

Also, the contents can be unstuffed, then copied over into the Unix volume, then you can use DC 6.3.3 to mount them.
