Temporary Joe's 2011 Mac Collection

As I may have mentioned (or not...) in 2011, I acquired a large amount of Mac stuff from my uncle, who was moving, which consisted of about a dozen Mac game boxes. Unfortunately that's all they were: boxes. But some had manuals, or games: here's what the haul was.

SimCity (by Maxis)
1. SimCity Terrain Editor User Manual (Macintosh Version): this is basically a leaflet
2. SimCity System Info and Reference Chart (Macintosh Supreme Version)
3. SimCity User Documentation (Macintosh Version): has newer Maxis logo
4. Registration Card (half of it, at least)

Notes: Has "Supreme" sticker stuck on it, indicating bonus cities and terrain editor. No disks.

SimIsle (by Maxis)
Box only: re-released as part of "Electronic Arts Presents CD-ROM Classics"

SimTower (by Maxis)
Box only and "Quick Start Guide"

SimCity 2000 (by Maxis)
Addendum and Quick Start Guide, Quick Start Guide for SE, SCURK Manual, original disks, a small leaflet ("Greetings SimCity Mayor: Thank you for supporting our software..."), original install disks (game only, Mac), an early Maxis catalog (newer logo, but "Coming Soon: SimFarm"), and a manual to SC2K (color cover, great condition)

The Ultimate DOOM for the Macintosh (by id Software)
Manual and addendum, additional installation notes, and CD in jewel case

Afterlife (by LucasArts)
Neat box, it open from the front, with opening between the "Heaven" and "Hell" side. Manual, but no game!

StarCraft Expansion Set: Brood War (by Blizzard Entertainment)
A huge, beautiful box (yup, box only). They don't make boxes like this anymore.

WarCraft Battle Chest (by Blizzard Entertainment)
An even bigger box, but this has manuals for WarCraft I & II and CDs for them. The Warcraft II expansion pack is included.

SimAnt (by Maxis)
A registration card (still intact), a manual (a centimeter thick, they definitely don't make them like they used to, sniff), a quick-start guide, "Greetings Ant Colonists" (letter similar to the SC2K one), Prodigy ad(!), and install disks

CodeWarrior Professional Release 2 (by Metrowerks)
QuickStart guide, software catalog leaflet, and registration card, but no software. Sorry, guys. :/

Sid Meier's Civilization II (by MicroProse/MacSoft)
A thick manual, a MacSoft catalog, advances chart, and a Inside Mac Games advertisement. The box has a lot of cardboard protection. No software.

Railroad Tycoon II (by PopTop Software)
Box only! I think I have this one burned on CD-R, anyway.

Caesar III (by Sierra Studios)
Manual, Sierra registration card, and reference card. No software

Sensory Overload (by Reality Bytes)
Quick start guide, "Getting Started", and install disks

King's Quest V (by Sierra On-Line as "Sierra Studios")
Install disks and manual. No box!

Return to Zork (by Activision as "Infocom")
Manual only.

I know that most of those lack software, but I intend on scanning (high-resolution scans) of everything I can. I've already done Sensory Overload, I provided a link in the game information page. As for selling any of these? Well, just make an offer to me and I may just accept. You'll have to pay for shipping & handling, which will vary depending on where you live (I am US-based).

Sensory Overload is currently selling for $56.00 complete on eBay. While missing the registration card, I could sell the complete version for a lot less. I also need advice as what I should scan next.

Just be sure to check what's already available before starting to scan anything. The Garden, replacementdocs, Le Grenier du Mac, the Old Mac Archive, etc. The "sim" stuff should be pretty well covered, for example, and in any case it can't be posted on the Garden.

The Ultimate DOOM for the Macintosh (by id Software)
Manual and addendum, additional installation notes, and CD in jewel case

If you have time, please upload the scanned manual for this to the Ultimate Doom page. There is a pdf of the "Read Me" text file there but not one of the manual (a booklet, really). Did you get the poster that came with this, also?

If you follow the external download link for Ultimate Doom, its archive includes a manual in PDF.

Thanks, I own the Mac CD version of UD, but have long since lost the booklet. I didn't think to DL one your MF copies (as you usually take pretty good care to scan the manuals & include them), I guess thats what I'll do.

I still would like to see a copy of the booklet here tho' as a DL, and replace the readme pdf thats on the UD page (that readme text is in the main folder of UD anyway).

The MacSoft catalog looks super-cool though, I should scan it.

I have the Maxis Sim (and Impressions Games Caesar III) manuals too. Really impressive.

The PC version manuals are readily available on the internet - the PC Caesar III PDF manual comes on the CD. So just consider the effort of scanning the Mac colour manuals and forming it into a usable document against the little benefit achieved over the PC manual.

I am serious about selling them off, though. If you have some old Mac software but no box, or maybe just would like to have some boxes so you can fantasize about actually owning old Mac software instead of just a bunch of faceless installations, this is for you.
